Monterey Coast-- So pretty

We drove from the Redwoods area through Santa Cruz-- where we ate at a fabulous little mexican dive... so yummy. Then we drove out on their famous pier, had a look around and kept on going to Monterey where we had reserved a little condo for 2 nights. This was the place. We loved Monterey. It really is such a beautiful setting and my kids could have spent hours exploring their tidal pools and rocky ledges. We also visited their world famous aquarium and went on a Whale watching tour. We did see a couple whales, but need to learn from our experience that we are not good on these types of tours. Blakely threw up and Bryan was terribly sick. Alas... we got off the boat and went exploring a bit more and then drove along the coast to Carmel and the 17 mile drive. We loved this part of our trip. It would be a great place to fly into and stay a week with kids. We'd planned on driving the Big Sur into Cambria but a big chunk of road had fallen into the ocean a month or 2 before and it was closed... so we hit the 101 and headed to Solvang.

LOVE all the updates. I still haven't gone through my California pictures from last April. Way to go on all these posts!
