Baya in the Dress

So Grandma and Grandpa Rasmussen bought matching boy and girl sailor dresses about 6 years ago and the idea is to have all the grandkids take a picture in them at around 9-10 months. Well, I've been needing to do Baya's and today I took her outside and attempted at a photo shoot. She was so funny. She really was enjoying the dirt, flowers and rocks. Everything is going in this kid's mouth right now. So, here are a few of the shots. She is such a joy. I cannot believe how old she is getting and how fun she is to have around.

Snuggling Together

So we bought a king size bed not too long ago. It has been a great investment. I think our favorite times as a family are those mornings when one by one each kid gets into bed with us and we snuggle... and put off doing the things that make life so busy, like getting ready for school! We have never been the type to have the kids sleep with us, but it sure is fun to snuggle in the mornings! Thank heavens for bigger beds!

Abby's the dancing queen

Abby had her dance recital w/ Angela's dance a few weeks ago. She is so darling and has really gotten good at following along. Notice Abby here picking her nose. She seems to be doing that a lot lately... any suggestions? Angela was about ready to pop and had the baby a week or so after.

Easter more pics

Here are just a few more pics to go w/ the Easter season. Also Blakley has now lost 8 teeth, or is it 7... anyway, here is her darling toothless mouth.

Easter Fun 09

Easter is such a great holiday. We had various activities surrounding the holiday. The girls enjoyed getting together at my friend Michelle's house w/ all the Hillcrest generation 2 kids. It's fun to see our offspring flourish!!! Michelle is setting a high standard and tradition here! We also enjoy a great Easter egg hunt every year at the Rasmussen's. My family usually comes along and it is a fun event. Thanks to all and especially for the true meaning of Easter--and celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. New life--Spring--new goals and a new start.

My kids are getting big... It's scary. I look at Blakely and have to blink because she's 6 and is so bright. She will explain things to me that she really couldn't already know. She hauls Baya around like a pro and brings Baya to me whenever she cries... thanks bud. She has been working on telling time and picked it up after a few minutes of practice with me yesterday. Abby is so fun right now. She tells stories about grass and rabbits and easter and may and her birthday coming and wonders if May means 3 or 4 because that's when her birthday is. She likes to negotiate her time outs with me and sends us to time out if we don't give her gum or take her to Yogurt stop... or let her watch movie after movie. It's so fun!!! She has been quite an impressive three year old in her big "up with kids performing group" but, all of the sudden, whenever it's her time to say her part, she gets a cough and has to leave the room... go figure.

Baya's first day crawling

Baya started crawling a couple of Sunday's ago. After rolling around for about a month, she decided it was time to take off. Here is some video from our last picnic at Bryan's house... the Sunday she decided to figure it out!!! Now she is pulling up on tables, trying stairs and into all kinds of trouble.

Bryan's house--Ras house

It's been 32 years since Bry's parents built this house. They moved last Summer to a new home also in Draper. We love this house and will always have so many great memories of it. It's true though... it's the people who make a house a home, not the house. We love you and will miss you 663... But, it will still be around just rented by someone else for awhile. Mary and Jeff have given service to their 7 children and raised them here, Mary did 23 years of preschool and hundreds of parties under this roof... so long

Mom's getaway!!!

So I went on a girls trip! It was great. I went w/ old highschool friends to Newport Beach, Ca. We went to Knotts Berry Farm, the beach, rollerblading, Ruby's and sat a lot by the pool (not pictured here!!!) It was a lot of fun... my favorite moments were the mornings spent jogging at Crystal Cove beach and after doing Yoga directed by Erin. Also late nights, golden spoon, good talks, and yummy food... good to get away. In all we left behind behind 14 kids! Kudos to the dads and grandmas!!! Thanks guys!!!
