It's a Girl...another one!

We found out that we are having yet another sweet, darling...daughter. I had to laugh when Bry said to me on the return of our Vegas Bowl trip, that he kind of hopes we will have a boy this time after seeing how pathetic I am at football knowledge, so he can have a helper in explaining it all to the girls in the family. I'm sure that one of his daughters will appreciate 10 yard penalties and BCS vs. Mountain West talk as much as a boy would. Anyway, if you have any name ideas send them our way. The top runners are Paige, Lydia, and Bea (baya).

Disneyland, the happiest place on earth!

Disneyland somehow always brings in the herds, and on New Years Day and the day after, we were like cattle! We had a really fun time as Blakely broke that 40 inch mark and went all out on rides like Splash Mtn, Tower of Terror, Big Thunder etc. Abby and mom took it easy on the Merry-go-round, tea-cups and lots of shows. It was fun to have uncle Dan along to rotate in and out, and help keep up the energy level. This was our real Christmas present.

Character Craze

I promise we didn't wait in lines all day to see these guys, but we did wait in a few and on a few just got lucky. Abby was so excited to see her "big woody" and she did insist we wait in line to see JoJo... while Blakely went on the tower of terror for the third time w/ her dad and uncle.

Minnie Mouse Club

Abby fell in love w Minnie Mouse while Blakely fell in love w/ wild rides. We got lucky and got to play "mickey-mickey-minnie" also known as duck, duck, goose... with goofy, minnie and Pluto in toon towne. Abby would not leave Minnie's side. Every time she got chosen and had to go the middle, Abby would get right up w/ her and move to be next to her. It was darling.

Long Beach Aquarium

So most people sit around after Christmas and enjoy their free-time, relax, play w/ their new stuff and clean up the mess! But, for some reason, us Rasmussen's don't know how to rest. We arranged a home exchange w/ a family in Long Beach right after Christmas and piled in the mini van for our first ever drive w/ the kids to California. Uncle Dan came and fun was had by all. Disneyland, the beach for a few hrs. and the aquarium... then back on the road again.

Merry Christmas 07'

Christmas seems like an event that lasts about the whole month of December. But, we look forward to it all year and are sad when it leaves. This year some highlights were doing the nativity @ the Rasmussen's and attempting it during Kelly's traditional "reverent" Christmas program. (A thing of the past now that there are 7 grandkids)--Christmas trees, Blakely had her very own, Christmas morning--and Abby's favorite part being the gum and cheetos in her stocking. And of course, the usual gatherings w/ family while we make new memories and see emotions rise w/ special gifts. (grandma's restored rocking chair)

Quick trip to Vegas

Happy birthday dear, I want to take you to Las Vegas for your birthday. It will be great, and by the way, BYU just happens to be playing in the Vegas bowl game, so can we go? We headed down after the scariest storm of the year, driving on pins and needles seeing wrecks everywhere. Dec 20-22nd was a fun trip. We stayed at the Golden Nugget and it had a great pool. It had an aquarium w/ sharks-fish right in the pool w/ a waterslide going through the middle of the aquarium. We figured out some suits and had a great time there. After the very miraculous blocked field goal, we headed to the Cheese Cake Factory in Caesers Palace w/ Bry's siblings. Vegas is cold in December.

Blakely's preschool program

Blakely has a darling preschool class and they did an outstanding job on their Christmas program this year. They sand their hearts our and did chimes and actions! She loves that kind of stuff! Here we try and get a cute pic of grandma and grandpa Sheppard w/ all their grandkids.

Santa

It was nice this year when both of our kids were not afraid of Santa. The Sheppard/Lawrence party always has a fun Santa and Blakely asked for a Polly Pocket and Abby a frog. At the Rasmussen's it was fun to see uncle Andrew all dressed in red. The girls caught on after awhile, but the answers stayed the same.

1st of December activities

We reserved a condo @ the Marriott in Park City the first week of December. It was a lot of fun. We had intended on snowmobiling, but there was not enough to hit the trails. Instead we had a great time swimming at the pool, playing on main street, and visiting the creches in Midway. Our kids even made an article for Meridian magazine. Grandma Lou Lou took the kids to the heber creeper and the burger keen w/the trains.
