Scenic Kauai

Just some memories we wanted to show you from Kauai. The fun light house, nights on the beach and the breath-taking Napali Coast.

More Kauai May 3-8, 07

We had lots of site-seeing, including the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, cool glass beach, the Napali Coast by boat, w/ snorkeling and swimming... and my memorable black eye... caused by Abby's powerful head butt. It was a great trip. The napali coast was really pretty, so I'll follow up w/ that...

Scuba in Kauai.. and cliff jumping

We went to Kipu falls, and Bry jumped the cliff a few times and we did a rope swing, and then we did the Scuba... Wow... it was a thrill. We did our first day of dives from the shore at Koloa landing, and the next day of diving at Sheraton Caverns and the Ledges. It was really scary but good. Bry got quite sea sick, and Amy was a little panicked, but we are geared up to try it again!

Kauai paradise...may 3-8

The resort was way nice: it made the vacation so accessible. We stayed at the Waiohi, Marriott on Kauai, and it was so great. The beach had seals and turtles, and great snorkeling... the pools were right next to the beaches, and the kiddie pools were awesome, and we just felt really spoiled!!!

More pics of Oahu May 1-3 2007

Too pretty not to show off this beautiful Temple. Blakely was facsinated w/ this cat in Haleiwa, @ Matsumotos shaved Ice, We hit Pearl Harbor early Wed. before we flew out to Kauai--always a sobering stop. More pics of beautiful Ko'olina where we saw our first Hawaiin sea turtle.

North Shore, Oahu

North Shore, Oahu... is one of Amy's favorite past-times... As she lived here back in 95 while attending BYU Hawaii. We set out for an early morning, first hitting the west shore and beautiful Ko'olina Marriott Resort where we snorkeled in the lagoons. Then, after some lunch, we had to make the stop at Matsumotos Shaved ice, (Bry's favorite) and onto Turtle Beach. We hit some great snorkeling at Sharks cove, and shrimp trucks of Kahuku, and onto Laie. The LDS Temple is so gorgeous and holds so many memories for Amy. We then carried on to the scenic Winward Side of the island and the windy Pali Lookout... It was a great, tiring day for all.

Hawaii, May 07--oahu

We arrived in Oahu on May 1st.. and spent the first evening at the famous Waikiki Beach... All those in the party were, our family of 4, Grandma and Grandpa Sheppard, and aunt Amy. (Bry's sister) It was 10 p.m. in SLC, but that party was just getting started for us!

Scuba cerification

For Christmas Amy told Bryan his gift was to get certified to Scuba dive, since Bryan loves to snorkel. Well, come class time, Bry begged Amy to do it w/ him. We did a winter class, and did our final dives at Sea Base (all 22 feet deep... crazy nurse sharks and no visibility lake near Grantsville.) We are planning to Scuba when we go to Kauai in May. Here's hoping Amy doesn't have another panic attack!

Dad and the Chicago Cubs

Bryan went w/ friend Rob Ryan to Chicago. The great part is that Rob's cousin pitches for the Chicago Cubs. They were treated royally, staying at his house, great seats, and a good "guys" trip. His cousin's name is _____ Eyre, (sorry). (pic of bry standing w/ hand over field is the seat where fan caught ball and deprived Cubby's from going to play-offs. The seat is now considered haunted.)

Zions

We took a day trip from St. George to Zions National Park. It was humerous to try and hike w/ the kids, but we had a fun time trying. It's really beautiful there.
