February 2013

February is the month of birthdays at our house.  Bryan turned 35 this year and we have a tradition with his birthday to somehow compile a soup night with swimming when possible.  We also added some BYU Basketball into the mix this year.  Bryan is all about doing things to make others happy.  This is the way he rolls.  We are so grateful to have him in our lives.  The kids love to go swimming, so it would be fitting that he'd make that his birthday wish because he loves to see his kids happy!  Abby and mom made the 3 layer pink cake... what a good sport!  There are two things that Bry did request and that was Clam Chowder and a BYU basketball game, so sometime during this busy week, those things happened.  Happy birthday Dad!

Valentines is a fun holiday to eat candy, write notes and and give love.  We did a large neighborhood valentines party this year (sorry no pics) We started at the Larsen's accross the street for appetizers, came to our house for pizza and salad and a few games, and then headed to the Smith's for sugar cookie decorating. We have a great group of friends and neighbors around.  Here's a cute pic of our girls, including Amy after our party.  Blakely below has decorated a darling Valentines box using our old hamster cage... she won the contest in her class for cutest box.

Abby is at a very cute and thoughtful age right now.  She will be turning 8 in May.  She was in her grades informance as Little Bo' Peep.  Above she wrote her good friend Maycie a valentine.  She is full of surprises.  She has been a girl scout this year and went out door to door selling girl scout cookies. We have been doing a lot of running around getting all of these orders filled!  She is at a fun age of discovery and is growing up so much.  She is almost as tall as her older sister too!

Blakely turned 10 on Feb. 25th... Pretty hard to believe it was ten years ago that we welcomed our fist sweet black haired baby into this world.  Blakely is just one of those girls that is good at everything she tries.  It's a curse!!! She is playing the piano, violin, doing tumbling, soccer, and a little bit of dance too. She loves to 'hang out' w/ her buddies and has a lot of them too.  We had a big party "minute to win it" style w/ a ton of girls.  It was crazy fun.  We did it at the church to make it work! We also kidnapped her for an early breakfast and mom took her skiing after 3.  She has grown up a ton lately and it's scary!  We love her very much. She is also the biggest cougar fan around thanks to her dad who steals her away for almost every bball game he can get to.

Baya is 4 going on 5 with the sass of a 13 year old!  She still has a ton of sweet mixed in too!  She loves to dance, is doing gymnastics and a creative dance class right now and is learning to read.  It's been slow going w/ her, but finally it's clicking!!! She is going to be a big kindergartner this next year and is very excited.  She said the other day about her little brother Bradford that follows her around all day, that he's kinda like her "BFF" but he just doesn't talk as much!

Bradford loves to mimick his sister... He has taken over her leotard when he can get dibs on it and will dance around just like the girls.  He has been doing a little tumbling class w/ his cousin Cmac and loved that. He loves to play w/ his buddy Naomi and do dress ups and heels and all!  But, don't be too worried, he loves his buddies Bechkam and Sean and boy cousins just the same!  He can play all day in the dirt, then come in and watch disney w/ his sisters!  He's been a handful full throttle for about a year now and still continues to be one but w/  a little more balance, sensibility and control.  He loves to go on jogs w/ mom and dad and point out the horses and birds.  He loves his bigwheel and to go out and bike in the church parking lot.  He was doing pretty well for awhile on the potty... but we've slowed again.  He will be 3 in September.

A few home tidbits: Good news, the kids are starting to pitch
in a little more w/ the dishes... Bad new: this is the result!

Mom got a perm... 90's maybe, but works well w/ her low maintenance plan to never do her hair!

Our good friends the Gailey's adopted this cute little boy Winston and were just sealed as a family in the SLC temple.  It was so cute! We love them.
